About this role
Responsibilities: Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing personal and household linen in line with care home protocols. Inspecting garments for damage, repairing minor tears, replacing buttons, and ensuring proper care for delicate fabrics. Organising and returning clean laundry to designated areas, including personalised resident storage boxes and wardrobes. Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness within laundry areas, adhering to infection‑control procedures and COSHH regulations. Monitoring stock levels of laundry supplies and chemicals, reporting shortages, and ensuring safe storage. Supporting residents respectfully when handling personal clothing, promoting dignity and comfort. Participating in comprehensive training programmes throughout the year, including mandatory and supplementary online and practical courses. Completing our induction programme to enhance your skills in delivering high‑quality laundry services. Available for a range of shift patterns, including part‑time and full‑time positions. Qualifications and Skills: No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided; however, experience in a care home or hospitality environment is welcomed. Basic numeracy and literacy skills, with good spoken English or a required language of service users. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating laundry equipment. Reliable, adaptable, and proactive in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure, able to handle stressful situations professionally. Enhanced DBS Check will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process.
